Wire Straightening Machine with Chamfering System SM12
The Cometo MTF22-6 wire straightening machine with chamfering system is an advanced solution for straightening and cutting wires with diameters ranging from 0.8 mm to 10.0 mm. Additionally, it is designed to perform chamfering on wires with diameters from 2.0 mm to 6.0 mm in the small version and up to 12 mm in the large version, ensuring high precision and processing quality.
Thanks to its roller straightening system, the MTF22-6 can process round, square, hexagonal, and various shaped profiles, offering exceptional versatility. It is particularly suitable for materials such as steel, copper alloys, and aluminum, ensuring a gentle treatment without surface damage.
The modular structure of the machine is based on a robust welded frame, designed to provide maximum operational flexibility. This allows the system to be configured according to production requirements, with options to select from various straightener sizes, three types of feeders, and two cutting unit sizes.
SM12 Chamfering System
The SM12 chamfering unit performs a V-shaped incision on the straightened wire, followed by a precise cut at the incision point. The system can be configured for:
- Chamfering on one end of the wire
- Chamfering on both ends
- Cutting only, without chamfering
Precision & Length Control
The cutting length setting is intuitive and user-friendly. The operator can input the desired length directly via the touch-screen, and the chamfering process will automatically synchronize with the new length, without requiring any mechanical adjustments to the chamfering system.
The feed speed is adjustable from 5% to 100% of the machine's maximum capacity. Productivity can reach 68 bars per minute for 1000 mm bars without chamfering and up to 45 bars per minute with chamfering.
The cutting length is determined by an encoder system, ensuring a precision of 0.1 mm.
Bar Discharge System
The bar discharge system is available in three configurations:
- Discharge for bars up to 500 mm
- Motorized modular cradle discharge, with lengths ranging from 1000 mm to 6000 mm
- Optional scrap separation system, which automatically removes the first produced pieces to eliminate potential defects and ensure maximum batch quality
Cutting Unit Options
- ECM05: Cutting unit available with either a "bushing-to-bushing" knife or an open knife.
- TAG10: Guillotine cutting system for precise and efficient wire cutting.
- TD125 with Disc Cutter:
For customers requiring high-precision cutting and superior quality, Cometo offers the TD125 cutting unit, equipped with a disc cutter capable of performing perfectly perpendicular, clean, and burr-free cuts.
This solution is particularly suitable for:
- Hard materials up to 44 HRC
- Applications requiring high-quality cuts
- Tube cutting
