Cutting unit TAG10
The MTF20 machine is an innovative solution specifically designed for the cutting and marking of TIG welding rods in various materials, including aluminum, bronze, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
It is compatible with TIG rods of the following diameters:

The machine is supplied with dedicated accessories for the specified diameters and enables marking on both ends of the rods, with standard lengths of 1000 mm or 914 mm.
The rod length is controlled via an external encoder and is fully programmable via a touch-screen interface.
The MTF20 can reach a maximum production capacity of 80 pieces per minute for 1000 mm rods, though production speed may vary depending on material type and rod diameter.

Binding System
Additionally, the MTF20 can be equipped with the IM60 binding system, which guides the produced rods into a cradle and, once the preset quantity is reached, automatically binds them at both ends with elastic wire.
This process enables the formation of predefined-weight bundles (typically 5 kg), facilitating packaging and insertion into boxes or tubes. The elastic wire can be easily removed during subsequent processing stages.
Marking Options
In addition to standard end marking, Cometo offers an advanced marking option for TIG rods, allowing for surface marking along the wire length.
This innovative continuous marking system is designed to ensure maximum traceability while preserving the wire’s structural integrity. The marking process does not deform, damage, or flatten the wire, maintaining its mechanical and quality characteristics.
Unlike standard marking, which is applied only to the two flattened ends, this solution allows marking at regular intervals of 188 mm along the entire wire length.
This technology is particularly valued in the U.S. market, where non-flattening marking solutions are preferred.
Payoff System
For all Cometo machines, customers can choose between a horizontal or vertical payoff system, depending on their specific production needs.
The horizontal payoff is an excellent choice for reducing machine downtime, as it features a coil lifting system that allows for quick and efficient coil changes.
